Saturday, March 1, 2008, Des Moines Creek Park
Just like at the fall run at at Des Moines Creek Park, the forecast rain held off during the run, and 74 runners were treated to partly sunny skies at the first Northwest Trail Runs event of the season. The timed runs grew several fold from last fall, with the Marathon Maniacs making a strong showing in the 6-hour. 2007 USATF Ultrarunner of the Year Greg Crowther put in a notable performance in the 3-hour event, completing a marathon with a few minutes to spare.
Thanks to the volunteers: Jim, Murray, Lisa and Peteris. Thanks also to Seattle Running Company for their support. SRC provided the socks, shirts and hats that some runners won by random drawing. The next Northwest Trail Runs event will be on Sunday, March 30 at Soaring Eagle Park and will feature 5-mile and 10-mile courses.

We'd like to get your name right, so please let us know if it's spelled wrong below.
NOTE: We made a mistake in the pre-run route instructions for the 10k runners, most of whom ran nearly 700 meters longer than last time. Also, a few runners were confused by our signage and ended up running different combinations of course loops. Our apologies for the mix-up. We've attempted to deduce the distance run by each runner from the split times.

Honorable mention goes to Andrew Dunn, who ran lead-off for NRG Shots and then put in a valiant effort on anchor leg for NRG Bars, coming in just after the three hour mark.
